Ulf Manú Müller,
Composer, Orchestrator

“People say art is entertainment,
but entertainment gives you exactly what you want,
whereas art demands from the listener”
- Ted Gioia

Each project needs a different balance of art and entertainment.
It is my job to find that balance with the team,
be it in film, theatre or musical projects.

About me

Music first came to me at age 4, playing away on my grandpa´s grand piano for hours on end. Luckily there are no recordings from this. Later I found myself drumming on tin cans I found at a creek in the fields of my home village, remembering a wildly upset neighbor coming to investigate after six hours of noise, but it was the guitar that hit me like nothing else. My first piece I wrote at age 12 for an early, unanswered love. After some school bands I was fascinated by the classical guitar, studied it, wrote some pieces for it, played concerts, won prices etc.
Then came the theatre – composing music for a play is a great joy for me. I love to pick up the moods and the characters in a scene and reflect it in my music.
I discovered the orchestra and realized that composing for it is really my thing, a universe of possibilities and colors to explore.
Consequently, I finished my Master of Fine Arts in media composition and orchestration at the Chichester University in South England.
Besides music I am passionate about yoga and nature. Taking extended walks through the woods, and bending my chin to my knees is a life elixir for me.
